CABARET is set in the hedonistic and indulgent atmosphere of the seedy Kit Kat Klub in Berlin. It’s the end of the Jazz Age. The city is in the midst of post-World War I depression and the Third Reich is increasing power. American, Cliff, has come to Berlin to get inspiration for his writing. In Fraulein Schneider’s boarding house, he meets the vivacious Sally Bowles, star of the Kit Kat Klub, and is drawn into her frenzied life style.

As you enter Holy Heart Theatre, pre-show performances at 7:15 immerse you in the atmosphere of CABARET as members of the Kit Kat Klub surround you, sharing their night life with you. You will want to come early to be part of it.

Cabaret’s creative, innovative and amazing set design transforms the theatre as St. John’s has never seen it before. The costumes dazzle!

The show opens with the enigmatic and wickedly irreverent EmCee, who entices the audience with “Wilkomen, Bienvenue, Welcome….In here everything is beautiful.”

Director Evan Smith with Associate Director Terri Andrews, Musical Director Bill Brennan and Choreographer Pamela Pittman lead a cast of highly acclaimed actors dancers, singers and musicians.
