Amy Edwards

Originally from Harbour Grace, graduated with Honours in Fashion Design from the International Academy of Design in Toronto. Immediately after graduating, she designed and created garments for the retail industry in Waterloo, Ontario.  After returning to Newfoundland, she continued to pursue her career with local design companies such as Rigor and AbbyShot Clothiers, where she was pattern designer and part of the design teams creating technical sketches and spec packs.  She is part of the St. John’s Arts and Culture Centre wardrobe team and designs and builds for many productions. Since 2011, Amy has designed the costumes for TaDa! Events shows, including: Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, A Tale as Old as Time Disney in Concert, Divas Do Christmas 2013-2019, Chicago, Evita, When Winter Comes: Frosty Festival Grand Opening, Jesus Christ Superstar, Rock of Ages, The Circle of Life: Frosty Festival Grand Opening, Rent and We Will Rock You. Amy has also worked in the wardrobe department of television shows and movies such as The Republic of Doyle, Maudie, Little Dog, Frontier, Black Conflux, as well as Hudson and Rex.  For Divas Do Christmas 2019, she was given the incredible opportunity to create The Divas Collection by Amy Edwards, original designs which were auctioned off to help raise funds for The Pottle Centre. Amy was delighted to travel to Paris and Los Angeles to research costumes for La Cage Aux Folles and buy sequins, feathers and lace and is very excited to be working with the amazingly talented cast and crew of La Cage Aux Folles.
