Donna Spurvey

Donna Spurvey was born and raised in Newfoundland, where she currently resides, plays with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, and teaches. Donna was a student of Michelle Cheramy at Memorial University of Newfoundland (B. Mus, B. Mus Ed 1998), Robert Cram at the University of Ottawa (M. Mus 2001), and studied with Carolyn Christie and Cindy Shuter at McGill University.  As a solo, chamber, and orchestral musician, Donna’s performances have been broadcasted on CBC regionally and nationally. Donna has been the recipient of numerous awards. She was twice the winner of the Kiwanis Music Festival Senior Rose Bowl and has represented Newfoundland at the national level. She has received numerous scholarships and grants from such organizations as the Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council and the Canada Council, to further her studies in music. In 2005, Donna graduated from Memorial University with a Masters degree in Business Administration and began her new career with the Federal Government of Canada. That being said, music and performing will always be her first love, and she is thrilled to be back playing with TaDa! for La Cage.
